PREBUILT DESIGN
My name is Dale Buckey and I've been building and remodeling homes along the Maine and Rhode Island coastlines for thirty years. Some of my earlier homes were built on the remote islands of Casco Bay in Maine. The past five years I've drawn and designed projects with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) to help builders and homeowners preview what their project will look like in 3 Dimensions. (3D)
After spending too many seasons working outdoors in some brutal weather I came to the realization that maybe I was building projects the wrong way all those years? I discovered that I could use Off-Site, PreBuilt Modular Components that were built in a factory like setting with perfect weather conditions instead of slugging it outdoors in the heat and freezing cold.
As a builder and designer, I'm aware that what looks good on the drawing board might not work out in the field. Using 3D CAD software like Chief Architect helps eliminate any "physics type" situation where two different objects want to occupy the same place at the same time. I will continue to advocate that using PreBuilt components built at Off-Site manufacturers can be delivered seventy to ninety percent finished, directly to a job site.
Dale recently wrote a book named "Hurricane Proof Your Home." The 100-page ebook is about the methods needed to build resilient homes that can weather future storms. It's available at Amazon for pennies, or you can view it for "no charge", here. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
